The 62nd Grammy Award is a mega milestone for the Nigeria Music Industry as 6 Afrobeats acts stand a chance of winning the Grammy gramophone.

Apart from Burna Boy clinging to a nomination with his “African Giant” album, 5 other Nigeria artistes also stand a chance of winning too, but not a direct winning as that of Burna Boy though.

This edition of the Grammy award is sure a mega booster for the Nigerian music industry at large.

Grammy Award has this culture of recognizing every everybody that partake in the recording of an album, and not just the owner. Though there are some categories that are exempted from this benefit.

So what does this mean?

Yes! it means that since Beyonce’s “Lion King (The Gift)” album has been nominated under “Best Pop Vocal Album” artistes like Burna BoyWizkidTeknoTiwa SavageMr Eazi, Yemi Alade are also a potential Grammy Winners.

“Lion’s King” album was nominated alongside Billie Eilish’s “When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go”, Ariana Grande’s “Thank U Next”, Ed Sheeran’s “No 6 Collaboration project”, and Taylor swift‘s “Lover”.

Let’s take a simple run down through the contribution of these recognized artistes;

WIZKID

Wizkid was featured on Beyonce’s hit track “Brown Skin Girl” off the Lion’s King album alongside Saint JhnBlue Ivy Carter.

Brown Skin Girl” remains one of the main track off that album. Beyonce winning will means a lot to Wizkid.

Though he has been partially nominated like this in the last Grammy with his “One Dance” on Drake’s album. Unfortunately, Drake didn’t win.

YEMI ALADE

Iconic Afrobeats Queen; Yemi Alade was also featured on Beyonce’s song “My Power” alongside Tierra Whack, and South Africa’s Busiswa.

She was also on the song “Don’t Jealous Me” with Tekno and Mr. Eazi.

MR EAZI

Banku Music CEO, Mr Eazi stands a chance of becoming a Grammy Winner with his contribution to “Don’t Jealous Me” with Tekno and Yemi Alade.

He also appears on “Key To The Kingdom” alongside with UMG act, Tiwa Savage.

TEKNO

Your Favorite boy, Tekno will also be clinging to a Grammy Award if Queen Bey’s album “Lion’s King” album wins the Best Pop Vocal Album.

Tekno partook in the composition and recording of “Don’t Jealous Me” alongside his Nigerian industry mate, Yemi Alade, and Mr Eazi.

BURNA BOY

The Oga Patapata himself! 🔥 He also contributed to Beyonce’s album with a solo track titled “Ja Ara E“.

He has his own stand-alone nomination under the World Music Album with his “African Giant” album.

Burna Boy has two angles to winning this prestigious album.

TIWA SAVAGE

The No. 1 African Bad Gyal was not left out on this soon to be an achievement for the Nigerian Music Industry.

Her contribution to Beyonce’s album made her also a soon to be Grammy Award Winner. She contributed to “Keys To The Kingdom” alongside Mr Eazi.
